Follow-up to the drinktec 2009: New impulses and first class contacts at the drinktec 2009 in Munich

At this year’s drinktec 2009 in Munich, Meypack made many interesting contacts, especially with visitors from outside Europe. The trade fair for beverage technology contributed to providing new momentum to the machine manufacturing industry and prompting more optimism for a stable 2010.

The focal point of Meypack’s spacious 300m2 trade fair stand was a high-speed wrap-around case packer that packs glass bottles filled with South Korea’s national beverage – soju – into wrap-around cases. The machine was designed and built for the South Korean Hite-Jinro Group.

Unique to this machine are the three integrated pre-fabricated partition insertion systems, which provide extra protection to the bottles and labels by inserting partitions between the bottles before the cases are closed. The three integrated pre-fabricated partition insertion systems ensure that even at high speed in continuous motion, each bottle formation is protected by a partition. The resulting case is a display case with perforations in the lid to create a tear-off strip for easy lid removal and with handles on the sides to enable uncomplicated and comfortable transport of the case.

“A large number of visitors displayed keen interest in the innovative high-speed case packer. Notable curiosity was shown by the visitors from Eastern Europe and Asia. Exciting and very concrete discussions in this context are a good omen for both domestic and international projects for the upcoming year. The exhibited machine built for the Hite-Jinro Group provided proof once again of Meypack’s technological competence in individual, customised machine manufacturing,” concluded Meypack’s Export and Marketing Director Klaus M. Vogel with satisfaction.

Y. J. Lee, Vice President of the Hite-Jinro Group from Seoul, South Korea, and the group’s Project Manager responsible for this project utilised this fair to visit Meypack’s stand and observe the machine in action before its impending installation at the company’s production facility in Icheon.
